FirefightingBot
Mechanical Design, Fall 2014

As part of the final project for the course titled Mechanical Design, the objective was to work in a team of 5 to 6 students in order to design a coworker robot capable of performing a function of our choice. Over the duration of the course, we were introduced to common structures used in mechanical design as well as the variety of transmision and power options available. Our team chose to design a firefighting robot capable of working alongside human firefighters to fight forest fires. As such, our robot was designed to be capable of carrying a payload as well as move large and heavy objects to clear pathways or hazardous material from fire scenes. In addition to designing the robot, we were also required to produce a final report and full assembly and drawings package as the final deliverable.

In this project, I designed the track drive and suspension system. Below, you will find a gallery of images of my contribution as well as the final product of our team. In addition, you will also find the assembly and drawing package I produced and a link to download a copy if you wish to do so.
